Seminar Semantics Visualization

Prerequisites

Human Computer Systems (HCS)

Course Content

Graphical representations of information provide an efficient way for acquiring knowledge. Thereby the visualization of complex data and knowledge structures offers great possibilities for knowledge acquisition and information exploration, whereas the preparation of the complex data under the consideration of the main task of information visualization, namely the communication between computer and human, plays a key-role.

In the course -Semantics Visualization-, students work in groups of two or three persons on a selectable topic. The topics of the course are based on current research questions and give students the opportunity to investigate a current problem with scientific methods. Thereby researchers of Fraunhofer IGD will accompany the students during their work. The seminar concludes with a written elaboration of the topic and an oral presentation of the results.

Objectives

The main objective of this course is to work out a specific topic from the area of Semantics Visualization with scientific approaches.
